We provide feedback on all submissions that follow our guidelines!
The subject line of the email should be “Category - Your Name” (ex. "Poetry - John Doe"). In the email, please provide a brief biography in the third person. Submissions should reflect the mission of The Aurora Review—to bring attention to the identities and stories of marginalized groups. If you are rejected, please allow a 6 month gap before submitting again.
Written Submission Guidelines:
Should be attached in a PDF, Word Document, or Google Document: Times New Roman, 12-pt, double spaced.
We accept 1-2 poems (each should be a separate file) per submission, and 2000 word limit for prose submissions.
Please do not include your name in the actual document, we edit all pieces blind!
Please title documents as follows: "Category - Title" (ex. Poetry - illumination).
Visual Submission Guidelines:
Attach 1-3 JPG photos of your artwork. All mediums are accepted (drawings, digital art, paintings, architecture, woodwork, photography, etc).
Please title documents as follows: "Category - Title" (Image - Epoch's Entry).
Remember to include a title for each piece!
We allow simultaneous submissions and also accept previously published work unless it violates the guidelines of a previous publisher. However, please let us know promptly if any work from a simultaneous submission is also accepted elsewhere.
We do not tolerate work that contains racist, sexist, homophobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory content; such pieces will be automatically rejected.
